We’re looking for a Full Time Business Development professional to join Velocity Labs as an early core contributor. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in making alliances that will advance accessibility towards the Polkadot blockspace ecosystem. You will be instrumental in profiling and onboarding key partners, fostering community engagement through these alliances and bringing business opportunities to the company and the ecosystem.
This position requires a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of the crypto landscape, experience with centralized exchanges and the ability of bridging technical concepts with strategic business development (BD) initiatives.
We want a self-starter, driven individual with excellent communication skills. Velocity wants to empower you to establish yourself as a thought leader for DeFi in the Polkadot ecosystem and participate in conferences and virtual gatherings to highlight what Polkadot and Velocity can offer to DeFi teams.
Your Skills
Proven track record on business development in crypto
Strong knowledge of the current crypto/DeFi landscape and understanding of how liquidity works in DeFi.
Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them towards a wider non-technical audience.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to identify, pursue and close complex partnerships
Excellent content writing skills with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
Independent worker with strong team collaboration skills.
English language proficiency
Nice-to-haves
Polkadot-specific experience is a plus
Knowledge of the CEX landscape
Experience within APAC businesses
Language skills beyond English, especially APAC languages

Resposibilities
Serve as the point of contact for Centralized Exchanges on behalf of the Polkadot ecosystem.
Oversee the integration of infrastructure providers (like CEXs, On/Off Ramps, and Custodians) into Polkadot's Asset Hub. This includes negotiating technical and commercial aspects, and ensuring that the DeFi Infra and Tooling Bounty approves the proposal to cover integration costs from the Treasury.
Ensure ample support and seamless accessibility of USDC and USDT throughout the Polkadot ecosystem.
Support existing Polkadot teams with their token listing initiatives and promote all Parachain tokens to be registered and listed on Asset Hub
Identify and support teams building infrastructure or DeFi applications on Polkadot by providing them with Velocity support services related to engineering, product, and GTM functions.
Carry out outbound initiatives to the top interoperability protocols and encourage them to deploy their solutions on Bridge Hub.
Provide ongoing support to Velocity Lab's advisory teams with business development and product strategy.
Direct new teams towards various funding sources and support structures available within the ecosystem.
Carry out business development work for the tools and SDKs that Velocity Labs develops to ensure widespread adoption across parachains, dApps, and wallets.
Relay developer pain points to the engineering team to enhance our product offerings or develop new products for validated pain points.
