Responsibilities

As a Full Stack JavaScript Engineer at Velocity, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and fast-paced team. Your responsibilities will include:
Architect, develop, test, and deploy front-end code for different DeFi applications and tools.
Maintain essential tooling and user interfaces (UIs) with a focus on improving both UX and DevEx on Polkadot
Providing hands-on front end support to DeFi teams working on developing parachains or dApps within our ecosystem.
Perform code reviews and testing for applicants of the DeFi Infra & Tooling Bounty that Velocity operates.
Conducting product research to identify opportunities for improvement with new and existing tooling.
Provide integration support for parachain teams adopting our products and tools.
Build communication channels with both Parity and Parachain engineers to keep up to date with the technical developments in Polkadot.
Aspire to become a leader within Polkadot for everything related to Front-End development standards.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have the following technical qualifications:
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including Node.js and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
Prior experience collaborating with component libraries or design teams in user-facing applications.
Familiarity with blockchain technology and/or smart contract development.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote team and with several outside stakeholders.

Nice to Have’s

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are considered advantageous:
Knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem and its technologies.
Previous experience in building decentralized applications (dApps) in the DeFi space.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience with Substrate, a blockchain development framework.
